McLean Hilton
McLean, Virginia

Roger Bass, president of Bass Architects, was the project manager for the original architects for the McLean Hilton in the mid-1980s. When additional pre-function space was needed a decade later, the hotel again called in Bass to design the space.

Working in collaboration with the interior design firm of Elias Design Group, with a tight budget and very tight turnaround time, Bass was able to bring the project to a successful opening in time for the 1994 fall season.

The new pre-function area features a huge triangular skylight and a glass wall overlooking the existing landscaped area, which brings in tremendous natural light. For evening use, hidden cove lighting illuminates the ceilings while decorative wall sconces and a large custom chandelier add a touch of elegance and sparkle.

The McLean Hilton, in the heart of the busy Tysons Corner business and shopping district, is a gracious meeting space and site for many professional conferences, weddings and other social events.
