COMMERCIAL PORTFOLIO
Burger
King
Georgetown, Washington, D.C.
|
|
This
project, designed in conjunction with Ellen I. Brotman, Interior
Designs, Inc., involved a complete remodeling of an existing Burger
King franchise to give it a contemporary, lively atmosphere. The
American Society of Interior Designers selected this project to
receive its annual design award.

The lighter
color palette brightens the space, which has little natural light.
All new finishes were selected for their cleanliness and durability
for easy maintenance and a fresh, clean look.
|
|
 |
|
Visual
interest throughout the space was enhanced through the use of millwork,
wainscot and neon decorative elements that give the restaurant a
fun, playful ambiance.
|
|
 |
| Two
specially commissioned paintings of Georgetown highlight the entrance,
while graphics and neon lighting are utilized to break down the scale
of the elevator shaft, turning it into a whimsical decorating element. |
